Who could have ever predicted what a paralyzed face and a fist-sized tumor in the right side of my head would do for my life? Who knew that it was, in fact, going to set me on a major detour?
I 've been in love with the voice since I was a little girl swinging and singing in my backyard.
I could always sing, especially catchy little television commercials, one favorite being the Coca-Cola jingle “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.” I would sing all of the TV commercials and couldn’t wait for American Top 40 with that incredible, deep-voiced, perfect-for-radio-host Casey Kasem.
So, what do I mean by UpLeveling?
undertaking ownership of what you say and how you say it by using words that have meaning and purpose
feeling joy in the fact that we have the ability to truly lead and influence people by using beautiful, inclusive language
building the necessary self-awareness, emotional intelligence and spiritual understanding to move beyond harsh communication, broken relationships, transactional business, and a lack of humanity

UpLevel your Communication represents my research, observations, and most importantly, my work with conscientious high achievers from around the globe for over 10 years.
My purpose in writing this book is to help leaders speak in a voice that is clear, courteous, conscious, courageous, compassionate, and inClusive. My experience and training include a B.S. in Music Business, an HHCP – Holistic Health Counselor Practitioner certification and Ph.D. in Holistic Psychology accompanied by private training in singing, acting, improvisation, and energy healing. I performed with my jazz pianist Chris, sang in operas, and acted in theatre, television, and film, also writing two one woman cabaret shows.
I believe the world has a deep need for true leaders who are mature and move beyond their ego to get the heart of the matter. The CEOs we will listen to in the future will be those who lead by example with excellence, kindness, integrity and humor.
